Quentin and Aileen met on a Christian dating site called Christiana Filipina during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Quentin was inspired by stories from people around him of the kindness, loyalty, and generosity of Filipinos and decided to seek out a potential Filipina partner. Coincidentally, intrigued by a travel show shot by her favorite band (BTS) in New Zealand, Aileen decided to filter recommendations from the dating site to men living in New Zealand. And so their paths have crossed. They began exchanging daily emails on the Christiana Filipina website, sharing personal stories and details about their lives. This correspondence covered various topics from mundane daily events to deeper subjects like family, work, and personal interests. Despite the distance, Quentin and Aileen managed to keep religiously to the schedule they had set for their regular calls and daily chats and calls. They also celebrated milestones of each other’s lives as well as occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, etc. One of the most interesting elements of their conversations is the daily prayers they say together for each other. They also extended their conversations with immediate family members. Their relationship is marked by generosity.
