True Love Brought Her from the Philippines to Texas
Texas couple celebrates three years of love and one year of marriage after meeting online at Christian Filipina.
Houston, Texas - March 31, 2014
“Our experience joining Christian Filipina and meeting each other was unforgettable and the memory of it will always be precious to us both. Neither of us ever expected to find our one true love, but that is exactly what happened.”
Nancy Adolfo didn’t expect she would find true love online and move from her home in Cebu, Philippines to Texas. Neither did David Greene anticipate his future bride would be from the Philippines. But they have recently celebrated the first anniversary of their marriage in Woodlands, Texas.
David Greene (who goes by Davey) was 44 and Nancy was 27 when the couple first met in 2010 at ChristianFilipina.Com, an international online singles community. After 9 months of online courtship, David finally visited Nancy in the Philippines in September 2011. After that visit, Nancy shared, "We missed each other so much, that after 3 weeks Davey came back again to see me. The second meeting brought us even closer and we realized that we really loved each other and we couldn’t wait to be together forever.” After he had made three more trips to the Philippines, Nancy's K-1 fiancé visa was approved January 28th, 2012 and David made one final trip Feb. 9, 2013 to travel with Nancy back to Texas.
Their civil ceremony was Feb. 25, 2013 in Woodlands, Texas. Then April 13, 2013 they celebrated their church wedding with David’s family at the chapel of the Field Ministries, 1650 Ramsey Farm Trail, Crouse, North Carolina.
Nancy and Davey have now become mini-celebrities on the internet, thanks to the beautiful videos Nancy has created and shared about their story at their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Davey-Nancy/275967792538462 and on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/twinkle1487.
"Our experience joining Christian Filipina and meeting each other was unforgettable and the memory of it will always be precious to us both. Neither of us ever expected to find our one true love, but that is exactly what happened," David and Nancy shared.
Nancy continued, “It seems like it was just yesterday when we made our marriage covenant and promise before God to be together until our Saviour comes. Our marriage is still young and by the grace of God we are learning what marriage really is. You are worth every mile that I have walked with you. Thank you for telling me that you love me every day. Your patience with me, provision for me and vision for us are admirable. I have been so very blessed to have found someone who loves me selflessly. I love you. Thank you for being such a good person and the best husband. You are truly the greatest man I have ever known!”
Davey added, “Our first year of marriage was very busy: international travel, a new job, a new city for both of us, built a house and moved in it, and went on three vacations. There is nobody I would have rather spent that year with. As I reflect back on our first year together on our first Anniversary, I realized how blessed I am. She is the love of my life.
