CF Wants Singles Seeking Online Dating Success to Have Access to Objective Review Sites
Online Asian dating site owner has proposed an independent organization to study and publicize the effectiveness of dating sites.

The owner of the niche dating site Christian Filipina has proposed a novel way to improve the experience of singles in online dating. Alluding that online “scammers” and fraudulent dating sites work together to deceive innocent singles, Christian Filipina owner Peter Christopher insists that dating sites owe it to their paying customers to serve those customers. "Every dating site that provides an effective service ought to be popular and well-compensated. On the other hand, those business that have grown large by taking their users money while leaving them single and confused don’t deserve consumer patronage. But oddly enough, there is no objective review service that actually compares the effectiveness of online dating sites. All online review sites are compensated and essentially just advertising for the highest bidders with at best cursory reviews of the sites."
In a spirited online discussion with the members of the iDate conference Linkedin group, Christopher proposed to other dating site executives the creation of an independently administered “Effectiveness Review” that would provide objective measures of consumer experiences at mainstream, international, and niche dating sites.
“An objective, independent organization is essential in this process,” said Christopher. “Because all major existing review sites have a financial incentive to list those sites that provide them the most compensation, even when those sites ultimately fail to help real people connect and form relationships. Whether those shady sites are overrun by scammers, employ pseudos or motivators (fake profiles) to deceive other users, or have some other (cause for failure), what matters in the end for consumers is whether those sites successfully connect real people. And I’m definitely not talking about a governmental organization. I propose that a press organization or review site business that wants to actually serve consumers take on this challenging but important project.
“Imagine if you could develop a way to actually show whether sites are effective to help people meet.” says Peter. “Nobody, not in the media or any review site or any book, to my knowledge, has done anything like it.” Peter’s site is considered one of the only international dating sites that guarantees security, and the lengthy testimonials section appears to indicate that the site actually works. Yet Peter insists, “Although our testimonials are real, we’re at a point in the dating industry where consumers don’t trust any online business’s own claims. The shady operators have no compunction and engage in many kinds of deception as they run their sites, including posting fake profiles and paying people to write on behalf of fake users. What the industry needs is an objective measure. Take fifty sites that want to participate, charge them $2,000 or $5,000 to participate. Then take 1,000 or 5,000 online daters, and 20-100 to each of the sites. Track what happens. Do they get real dates? Do they end up happily married after a year? Or are they still single? Then repeat this year after year. It has to be undertaken seriously.
“Somebody should run with this idea. It could be a game-changer for the online dating industry, knocking it out of its funk. Do this right, and we can finally get an idea of which sites are likely to help you find love, and which sites are trying to take money out of your pockets.”
Peter and Milyn Christopher founded Christian Filipina in 2009. Over 150,000 men and women have joined in that time, and thousands of them have already met their special someone. Christian Filipina was also recently highlighted by the BBC in its Scotland Investigates program Tainted Love, for its work in fighting corrupt practices in the dating industry.
